RANCHO SANTA FE GOLF CLUB

Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course

Rancho Santa Fe Golf Course

The Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is located north of San Diego, in the heart of the village of Rancho Santa Fe. The spectacularly endowed “natural” golf course was carved from the rolling terrain of a eucalyptus forest and is surrounded by horseback riding trails and beautiful estates.

The championship course is an eighteen hole 7,073 yard, par 72 layout, distinguished as one of the finest “walkable” designs in the world. The course was extensively renovated in 2002, elevating it to one of the top 20 best golf venues in California according to Golf Digest Magazine. The practice facilities include a double-ended driving range; practice putting green; and a newly constructed two-acre short game practice area. It is the original site of the Crosby “Clambake”, predecessor to the AT & T Pebble Beach Tournament and host to a number of prominent championship events, notably the 2006 USGA National Junior Amateur Championship.

Membership in the Club is presently $50,000 and is available only to members of the Rancho Santa Fe Association by virtue of ownership of Covenant property.

The Club is dedicated to providing the members and guests a first-class golf experience. We welcome your interest in the Club and hope you consider becoming a member soon!

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club Golf Course

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club Golf Course

FAIRBANKS RANCH COUNTRY CLUB

Welcome to Fairbanks Ranch Country Club! FRCC opened in 1984 in conjunction with the Olympic Equestrian Endurance Event. A number of statues and equestrian jumps remain on the course as a celebration of the club’s Olympics heritage. FRCC is a distinctly private and member-owned club. Members enjoy an active lifestyle consisting of golf, tennis, dining and social activities that foster enduring relationships. We hope the information provided here will be helpful to you as a visitor to our website or as an invited guest of one of our members

The Valley, Lakes and Ocean “Nines” combine 27 picturesque, walkable holes into three different course layouts to provide daily variety and recreational fun for golf members at all skill levels.

Our picturesque 27 holes, designed by architect Ted Robinson, Jr., are broken down into 3 very walk-able courses: The Valley, Lakes and Ocean. Five tee areas provide golfers the opportunity to make their round as challenging as they’d like. The Golf staff is available for lessons for players of all levels of playing ability. Numerous competitive and social golf tournaments are available throughout the year including our prestigious Olympian member-guest tournaments. One of the distinct characteristics of the Club is that there are no homes built on the course. The natural setting includes an abundance of water, trees and natural plant life making it a photographer’s dream.

The club sports an extensive group of active lady golfers, who play for both competitive and social purposes. Members of the FRCC Women’s Golf association are eligible to compete in guest days, team play and club tournaments, including the Member-Member, Ladies’ Club Championship, President’s Cup, Olympian (premier member-guest) and Ladies’ Invitational. The Niners group enjoys golf as a casual game played for social purposes, combining golf and lunch on a weekly basis.

The opportunity to introduce members’ children to the game of golf is highly valued at FRCC. Fundamentals and etiquette are taught through individual lessons, clinics and camps throughout the year. Helping juniors develop their skills and respect for the game allows members to enjoy time on the course with their families, an important objective of the club.  Since Sid McClue has been a long-term member of Fairbanks Ranch CC and has been very involved at the club, please feel free to contact him with any questions.

THE BRIDGES GOLF CLUB

The Bridges Golf Club

The Bridges Golf Club

Carved into the lofty coastal terrain, this 18-hole work of art is characterized by arching fairways, canyon carries and one spectacular hole tucked into an orange grove. Designers incorporated offset tee placements, some lined along canyons and others situated down hillsides. No two holes are even remotely the same, so players of all skill levels will find the course memorable.

“The design philosophy was to create a visually stimulating and mentally challenging course that provided a variety of strategic options to make it enjoyable for players of all abilities,” said Bruce Charlton, Robert Trent Jones II Group. “To achieve this, we incorporate a risk/reward philosophy, providing bail-out zones for higher-handicap players, while enticing accomplished players to hit great shots.” The first hole is an example of risk vs. reward. From the tee of the strategically designed par-5, golfers may choose to gamble on the drive and be dancing in two. More conservative tee shots may land golfers with a minimal view of the green.

The signature 10th hole features a 150-yard carry over a deep scenic canyon to a fairway and green perched on a peninsula of land. A 285-foot bridge takes golfers over a majestic creek to spectacular views waiting on the other side. The dramatic carry combined with the natural beauty of the creek below are sure to make this one of the most photographed holes in California. “San Diego has a lot of good golf history, but The Bridges will finally bring international golf course acclaim to the nation’s best golf climate,” Charlton said.

RANCHO SANTA FE FARMS GOLF CLUB

Rancho Santa Fe Farms Golf Club

Rancho Santa Fe Farms Golf Club

Built in 1988 in the ruggedly beautiful terrain of Rancho Santa Fe, one of San Diego’s most prestigious communities, The Farms Golf Club, a private, member-owned equity club, was created and built for golf enthusiasts…golfers serious in their commitment to the game and its historical traditions.

Originally designed by Pete, Perry and Alice Dye with assistance from golfing great, Tommy Jacobs, The Farms golf course was extensively remodeled in 2000 under the guidance of golf course architect John Fought and his associate, PGA tour professional Tom Lehman.

With modifications designed to improve the playability and maintainability of the course, changes included newly reconstructed and re-contoured bent grass putting greens that allow for more undulation and additional hole locations; new teeing areas and bunkering that test a player’s ability to visualize and execute the proper shot; a state-of-the-art irrigation system; and a wonderful practice facility featuring a double-ended driving range, complete with target greens and bunkers. Nestled amidst gently rolling hills and hollows, several additional water features and newly created high rough landscaping add to the course’s beauty and the sense of peaceful seclusion that prevails on this championship course.

Overlooking the magnificent golf course is a 38,000 square-foot clubhouse designed by clubhouse architect Robert Altevers. Thoughtfully planned and beautifully appointed with traditional furnishings, the clubhouse offers magnificent views of the golf course in an atmosphere of understated elegance. With one of the most extraordinary staffs anywhere, the level of service is appreciated by the entire membership and recognized throughout the industry. Their mission is simple: to provide the member with an experience beyond expectation.

The Farms offers breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday and a variety of holiday and themed events are also scheduled throughout the year. In addition, Friday casual dinners are scheduled June through August each summer.

While members at The Farms are diverse in their interests, occupations and tastes, the common thread of their love for the game is the underlying reason for the club’s being.

The Crosby National Golf Club

The Crosby National Golf Club

THE CROSBY NATIONAL GOLF CLUB

Elevation changes are the hallmark of the The Crosby and golfers get a bird’s eye view of a number of greens from tee boxes set high in the sky. The highest point on the course is the tee box on the fifth hole, a 423-yard par 4 that offers sweeping views of the property while luck will figure out what club will keep the ball in a fairway that curves to the right nearly 200 feet below.

Four of the course’s par 3s also play downhill, epitomized by the 174-yard 11th hole with its dramatic red rocks and abandoned mine shaft framing a tiny green. The longest par 3 at The Crosby is the 13th hole at 240 yards. Its inviting green sits approximately 100 feet below the tee box. The course’s only par 3 that doesn’t play downhill is the 183-yard 8th hole which features a three-tiered green set into a natural amphitheater of rock formations with a steep ravine full of native chaparral in front.

The entire layout is dramatic, yet fairways are generous and elevation changes and distance between greens and tee boxes make each hole a picturesque experience. The North County San Diego region’s serenity lends itself to a relaxing atmosphere that helps to create golf experiences that continue to challenge and inspire year after year.

DEL MAR COUNTRY CLUB

Del Mar Country Club Golf Course

Del Mar Country Club Golf Course

Tucked away in a quiet, secluded valley of Rancho Santa Fe, the Joseph Lee designed golf course at Del Mar Country Club offers an exhilarating experience – one that members and their guests want to play again and again. Embracing the site’s natural beauty and surrounding terrain, the design encompasses breathtaking vistas, and an abundance of native flora and fauna.

Ambling brooks, crystal lakes and cascading waterfalls wind their way through the 7,226-yard championship layout. The fairways and greens are noted for their impeccable maintenance, and Del Mar County Club is one of the only courses in the area that transitions from a summer Bermuda grass to a winter Rye, ensuring a perfect playing surface all year long. The course’s classic design featuring five sets of tees makes it playable for the average golfer, yet still challenging for the more advanced.

In order to provide the ultimate private club experience, Del Mar Country Club has adopted a ‘NO TEE TIME’ policy, so that members may show up and get started whenever they are ready – just one of the many reasons Del Mar was named “Best Private Course” by Ranch & Coast magazine.

TORREY PINES GOLF CLUB

Torrey Pines Golf Club

Torrey Pines Golf Club

Welcome to the nation’s foremost municipal golf course. Situated atop cliffs towering above the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, California, golfers marvel at the views of the coastline, deep ravines, and classic championship golf holes.
Torrey Pines is the beautiful site of one of the most memorable battles in golf’s history–the 2008 U.S. Open. While taking in the views and gorgeous weather, discover our award winning golf shop where you can take home some of the magic.
Live close by and want to improve your swing? Or perhaps you’re visiting San Diego on your dream golf vacation. In either case, our popular player development programs will get you smiling about your game in no time.

Located in La Jolla (pronounced “la hoya”), California, Torrey Pines Golf Course sits on the coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is recognized as the premier municipal golf course owned and operated by a city. It is named after the Torrey Pine, a rare tree that grows in the wild only along this local stretch of the coastline in San Diego County and on Santa Rosa Island.
It offers two picturesque and, due to its yearly hosting of the PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open event, widely recognizable championship 18-hole golf courses. It is surely the most accessible public facility for the die-hard enthusiast wishing to play at a world-renown facility that nearly all golfers know by name. Torrey Pines was the site of perhaps the most memorable modern day U.S. Open Championship, when in 2008, under the typically brutal conditions of this major tournament, injured and hobbling Tiger Woods defeated Rocco Mediate during their sudden death playoff after 90 grueling holes of exciting golf. Torrey Pines also offers one of the largest on-course golf shops in the United States, expert instruction, tournaments, and advanced golf schools.
